‘Jon & Kate’ May Split
After being in a harsh spotlight for the last few weeks as tabloids have written of marital troubles, Kate Gosselin is now admitting to People that she and her hubby Jon have have been privately struggling for months.
"I don't know that we're in the same place anymore, that we want the same thing," she says quietly, a reference to stories that say Jon has fallen for a 23-year-old teacher. For Kate, who has referred to her husband as "my balance, my strength and my stability," to now consider a future apart has been heartbreaking, but not impossible.
"You can't imagine yourself in a certain position when all this first happens, but you can do it over some months," she says. In the lengthy interview, out Friday, she says she isn't sure she believes that Jon didn't cheat. "My gut instinct says he's mad that he got caught." And she details his unhappiness about their life together - as she has done most of the promoting for their TLC show, Jon & Kate Plus 8, while he has stayed home.
Although the headline on the People cover is "We Might Split Up," Kate says she hopes her marriage can be saved. "I will never give up hope that every member of our family can be absolutely happy again," she says.
