Kottkamp Supports McCollum, Running for Attorney General
Jeff Kottkamp will be a candidate for Attorney General next year, the Jacksonville Observer has learned from a reliable source close to the Lt. Governor.
Kottkamp made the decision earlier this week, but he is holding off an announcement until after current Attorney General Bill McCollum launches his campaign for Governor next week.
As we reported earlier today, Kottkamp could still be Governor for a day if Charlie Crist is elected to the U.S. Senate, or if Martinez resigns early and Crist appoints himself to the Senate seat.
UPDATE: Lt. Gov. Kottkamp has essentially announced his support for Bill McCollum's campaign for governor. "I anticipate being there on Monday to support this party," Kottkamp said of McCollum’s plans. "I’ve been by the governor’s side for the last two and a half years and I’ve seen what it takes on a day-to-day basis to be governor, and I think Bill McCollum is capable of doing that."
