Thursday’s Top TV Picks
It's the last Thursday of the season, so pretty much every network scripted series wraps up its yearly run tonight — the exception being Ugly Betty(ABC, 8 ET/PT), which has one more week to go...
• So which finishes can't be missed? Start with Fox's reliably entertaining Bones(Fox, 8 ET/PT), which brings back recurring guest stars Ryan O'Neal, Brendan Fehr and Eric Millegan for an episode that may mark a shift in the Bones/Booth dynamic. Or not, I hope: I sort of like them the way they are.
• You have some tough choices in the 9 p.m. hour. Laurence Fishburne's Dr. Langston faces a career crossroads in CSI(CBS, 9 ET/PT), which needs to spend the summer making the character more personable and compelling. Over on NBC, 30 Rock(9:30 ET/PT) has Jack bonding with his dad, though the episode boasts so many guest stars (a frequent Rock failing) you may have a hard time finding Jack in the crowd.
• That means the best pick may be Grey's Anatomy(ABC, 9 ET/PT), which ends its late-season surge with a two-hour finale. Izzie's fate and George's career path are still up for grabs, as is that (beautifully) delayed wedding for Derek and Meredith. Here's wishing Izzie lives, Meredith weds and George finally gets an interesting story.
