Wednesday’s Top TV Picks

CBS's "The New Adventures of Old Christine" (8 p.m. ET/PT) repeats one of its funnier episodes, as a talent scout spots Ritchie in a school play and offers him a commercial audition. Richard's opposed and Ritchie doesn't want to do it, which should be the end of it — but of course, isn't. "I was up all last night thinking about it," Christine says to her brother, Matthew, "and you know what I realized? Kids are stupid." His reply? "I know Dad used to say that out loud all the time, but I don't think you're supposed to."

Watch tonight, and keep your fingers crossed that a few Emmy voters are watching, as well - because in addition to star Julia Louis-Dreyfus, it would be nice to see a little recognition for Clark Gregg, Hamish Linklater, Wanda Sykes or Emily Rutherfurd.

Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance" (8 p.m. ET/PT) camps out in Las Vegas for the first round of call backs. The dancers will be fine; on this show, it's the judges you have to worry about. So this week, pray that Mary speaks more softly and Nigel more carefully.

NBC's "Law & Order" (10 p.m. ET/PT) reaches the end of its 19th season tonight, with another season in store, as the team tackles the murder of a charity executive. The show exits with its best ensemble in years - so let's hope it remains intact next year.
