Poll: McCollum Leading Sink
A new poll is showing Attorney General Bill McCollum with a 6-point lead over State CFO Alex Sink in next year's Gubernatorial race.
While a 6-point gap shouldn't be too troubling for Sink this early in the race, what might give Sink some pause are the job approval numbers.
The poll reveals that 48% of voters approve of the job Bill McCollum is doing, while only 18% disapprove. Sink's job approval rating is at 33% with a 22% unfavorable rating.
Among personal favorable/unfavorable ratings, McCollum is viewed favorably by 41% of the electorate and unfavorably by 13%. The lesser-known Sink is viewed favorably by only 23% and unfavorably by 12%.
McLaughlin & Associates conducted this statewide survey of 600 likely voters on May 28th, 2009. All interviews were conducted via telephone by professional interviewers. Respondents were randomly selected within predetermined geographic units structured to correlate with actual voter turnout.
