Duval Republicans Already Campaigning for 2010

127On Saturday, June 13th, about 60 local Republican volunteers (including numerous elected officials, party leaders, and Chairman Lenny Curry) kicked off the 2010 campaign by walking in neighborhoods all over the city.

The walks were organized as part of a coordinated campaign being run by the Duval County Republican Executive Committee under the direction of Rick Hartley, the county's Republican State Committeeman.

Volunteers met Republican voters on their doorsteps and talked about the direction of the country under Obama, encouraged them to vote in next year's elections and asked them to volunteer to help turn out other Republican voters.

Following the neighborhood walks, the groups met up at the Republican Headquarters for lunch. Organizers estimate that around 1,700 homes were visited during this kick-off event.

They plan to continue to contact Republican voters throughout the Summer months in a quest to reach every Republican household.

  1. Wow. What a movement.

  2. I walked and I honestly had fun. It was a little weird at first but people started to open up and really started to vent about the BO administration. They started bringing their TEA party signs to the door and would answer the three simple questions before I could give the answers FCAT style. I only met two people who were registered Republicans who were on the fence about any of the questions. Other than that everyone I met was nice and hospitable and glad to have me show up on their door step. I will walk again and I highly encourage everyone else to do it too!!
