How far we have come from the old WWII temp housing buildings in the 1960s to the wonderful network of learning that FCCJ/FSCJ is providing to the working folks of the First Coast. I think the name continues the tradition and enhances the mission and achievements of many people working very hard to make this all come about. The naming committee probably had this in mind when they started, and could probably have saved the $50K, but obviously this idea was in the pipeline long before this recession hit, and it was no doubt money well-spent. After all, we have had several titles in the Jax area; "First Coast" may change to something else, then there would be a scramble to come up with another, more timely, name. This fits the bill quite nicely. Congratulations on continuing to provide education to the community at a higher level than before! We were thrilled to pass by Kent Campus and see the new sign!
