Hyde Joins Mayoral Race
Jacksonville City Council member Kevin Hyde will file to run for the office of Mayor of Jacksonville, on Tuesday November 10 at 1:30 p.m. at the Supervisor of Elections office located at 105 East Monroe Street. Councilman Hyde will be joined by his wife Kathi and daughters Virginia and Michal. Also joining the Hyde family will be numerous supporters including State Representative Lake Ray, Jacksonville City Councilman Michael Corrigan and former Jacksonville City Councilman Lad Daniels.
“I am thrilled to begin my campaign for mayor,” said Kevin Hyde. “We will focus on the issues as well as the leadership skills and the values needed for the future of our city.”
Hyde has lived in Jacksonville since 1988. He was elected to the City Council in 2003 and served as Council President for the 2005-2006 Council year. He is also the Managing Partner of the Jacksonville office of Foley & Lardner. Hyde practices labor and employment law where he focuses on resolving workplace disputes, counseling employers on employee relations issues, and training employees and supervisors.
Hyde has long been involved in leadership positions with the Florida Bar. He is a past chairman of the Florida Bar Labor and Employment Section. He is listed among employment lawyers in Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA and has been Jacksonville Magazine and Florida Trend as one of the state's leading employment law attorneys.
