Sharks Acquire Former Gator
A former University of Florida Gator, Baker joins the Sharks in search of his third national championship ring.
Baker committed to Florida as a SuperPrep All-American from New Smyrna Beach and was ranked in the top 25 of prep receivers. He left Florida with an impressive resume. As a three-year starter, Baker hauled in over 150 receptions for over 2,200 yards and 21 touchdowns. He currently resides ninth on the Gator’s list for career touchdowns and capped his career with an NCAA championship ring in 2006.
Baker’s championship ring collection would soon grow. He was selected as a seventh round pick in the NFL's 2007 draft, joining the Pittsburgh Steelers. After a season on the Steelers’ practice squad, Baker was signed to the active roster for the 2008 season where he contributed in eight games as the team made their way to a sixth Super Bowl win.
Baker joins the Sharks following the team's impressive 54-38 victory over the Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz. The Sharks will take a trip to Huntsville to battle the Alabama Vipers this Friday. The match-up can been seen on the AFL Live webstream beginning at 8:30pm.
