Man, 91, Chases Casino Thief, Then Collapses and Dies
DETROIT - An elderly man died after he was robbed at Greektown Casino and followed the suspect to reclaim his winnings Wednesday afternoon, police said Thursday morning.
The 91-year-old, mad that a man had snatched his $240 prizes ticket, trailed the 56-year-old outside and pointed him out to a police officer, who arrested the suspect, Detroit Police Department spokesman John Roach said today. Then, the older man collapsed and was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
The suspect is being held at the DPD's northeast district, Roach said.
