Observer Sports Columnist Richard Miller Launches Daily Radio Talk Show

Richard Miller, sports columnist for the Jacksonville Observer and host of the weekly program "Inside the Game" on ABC 1530 WBOB, is launching a new daily show today. The program, Miller on Sports, represents the fulfillment of a dream.

“Although writing is one of my passions, radio is my first love," said Richard. “Landing a daily radio gig is a dream come true. Ever since I began listening to sports talk radio in 2003, I knew I would find a career there. Years of hard work have paid off tremendously."

Starting as an intern with two other local sports stations, Miller has built his radio resume over time. In addition to being on-air for over a year with WBOB, he has also been covering the Jacksonville Jaguars nationally for Sporting News Radio.

Now every weekday, from 1-2pm, Richard and his guests will take calls and talk sports.

"The show will be primarily sports, of course, with a focus on fun and entertainment," said Richard.

While ABC 1530 WBOB is best known for conservative talk, as the home of well-known personalities like Glenn Beck and Laura Ingraham, the station has also built a significant sports lineup. In addition to Miller on Sports and Inside the Game, WBOB is the local home of the FSU Seminoles, the Orlando Magic and select games for the USF Bulls.

To listen to Richard's debut broadcast as the host of Miller on Sports, tune in to ABC 1530 WBOB at 1pm.

Or you can listen online at the station's website.

CAPTION: Richard Miller sits in on Allen Reid's jazz program at Flagler College Radio in 2005, marking his very first on-air radio experience.

  1. Good luck on your sports show, Richard! I have always been one of your faithful fans.

  2. Good Job! I enjoyed your first show. I could listen to all the sports shows in Jax. for a week and not get that much information. This is real sports talk ... not musical poppycock.

  3. Checked out your facebook page for MilleronSports. Cool youtube video.
