Bucket List Item Lands Friends in Jail

Women Arrested for Bucket List

Longtime friends were arrested on Wednesday for checking something off their 'bucket list,' steal something from a retail store.

Police say, 36-year-old Andrea Mobley and 38-year-old Jennifer Morrow were arrested on Wednesday and charged with petty theft.

According to Ocala Police Department reports, Officer Charles Hunt went to Walmart at 2600 SW 19th Ave. Road, Ocala, Wednesday with a reported theft. A loss prevention officer told the officer she had seen two women, in the store and that one was eating beef jerky and the other had concealed some bathing suits in her purse.

The loss prevention officer said Mobley went into a fitting room and when she came out, the two women left through the garden area without paying for the items.

The women were detained and police were called.

Mobley tried to talk her way out of the situation, but was wearing one of the bathing suits beneath her clothing, according to reports. She told Officer Hunt she wanted to go swimming but they didn't have swimsuits. She said putting on the suit was "an impulsive thing," as was eating the beef jerky.

Both women were taken to the Marion County Jail, with a bond set at $250 for each. Mobley was released from the jail at 2:22 a.m. Thursday.

According to Ocala, Morrow told Hunt, Mobley and her have been friends for 30 years but have been separated for half that time and had just recently got back together. She said stealing something was a bucket list thing on their list of things to do together.

"It's not something I wanted to do, but we both decided to do it," Morrow said of the thefts.

"I'm ashamed of this whole situation," Mobley said. "She said it would be all right. We were two stupid women doing something we never did before."
