This year the Super Bowl halftime show's stage will be graced with Beyoncé and her live band. The official start time of the NFL Halftime show has not been revealed but with the game starting at 6:30pm EST, it puts the Beyoncé half time show at about 8:15pm EST. For people in other timezones that would put Super Bowl 47's halftime show at 8:15pm ESt, 7:15pm CST, 6:15pm MST and 5:15pm PST.

Other surprise guests that could be performing tonight will be the members of Destiny's Child, Michelle Williams and Kelly Rowland. It was revealed in a US Magazine report that multiple sources said they would be performing alongside Beyonce. The songs that the Destiny's Child group will most likely perform are "Survivor" and "Bills, Bills, Bills." In an interview with WRUG Michelle Williams said, “I hate to disappoint the people and tell them it’s not true,” she said. “Just thinking about it gives me a headache. It seems quite impossible because of our own schedules.”

One other surprise guest that could show up but has not been confirmed is husband Jay-Z. The song that Jay-Z and Beyoncé could end up performing would be the "Crazy In Love" hit. The combination of husband and wife on the Superbowl Halftime show however is not confirmed.

Beyoncé has done a great job at providing behind the scenes reveals through YouTube of her Super Bowl performing experience. There are three videos that were made public on her YouTube channel: beyonce. The first video that was made available was titled, "Beyoncé Super Bowl Halftime Show Rehearsal: Day 1", the next titled, "Beyoncé Super Bowl Halftime Show Rehearsal: Day 2" and the last titled, "Beyoncé Super Bowl Halftime Show, New Orleans: Day 3."

In the first video choreography of Beyonce's dance team is shown progressing in their rehearsal area. The second video published on January 31st, 2013 shows Beyoncé's background singers practicing and harmonizing while on a stage with a camera in front them laughing back and forth. The third video is more personal with an intro of music and images and video of New Orleans, LA with the towns colors, people and surroundings. The video goes into a voice narrative of Beyoncé talking about her journey. Beyoncé is seen saying, "I was looking at the Superdome and I felt very proud because I know this is my legacy." Beyoncé goes on to say, "I'm really happy to send this out, I'm happy that it's close to home. I spent many car rides coming to New Orleans from Texas, so it feels nice to be where my family is from, Louisiana. It's kind of like everything is coming back full circle."

In an in depth interview with Rich Eisen and Deion Sanders Beyonce reveals few secrets about her Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show in Mercedes-Benz Superdome. The talk between Mr. Sanders and Mr. Eisen often eluded to potential additions to half time show that might be there. There was never anyone revealed but Beyoncé did talk about how she chose the set list of songs to be performed at the Super Bowl. Beyoncé told the guys interviewing her, "The hardest thing was figuring out what I was going to perform." It was difficult because I want to give all the fans all of the songs they love, but it's only 12 minutes."

Everyone wants to know what time is the Super Bowl 2013 game? The Super Bowl XLVII will be starting after all the pre-game coverage tonight at 6:30pm EST, 5:30pm CST, 4:30pm MST, 3:30pm PST in the United States on CBS. For those with an HD TV you'll be able to get the broadcast in 1080p / 1080i for crystal clear quality of the New Orleans stadium.

Just like NBC last year, CBS will be allowing you to watch the Super Bowl 47 LIVE online at CBS's new live streaming page at CBSSports.com. There will be social tracking and conversation that you can participate in with a real-time Twitter stream too.
If you're excited to start watching NFL Superbowl coverage of the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers you don't need to wait at all. There are behind the scenes interviews, sports analyst picks and talks about Super Bowl commercials streaming now with pre-game coverage at CBSSports.com all day today.

While your amazing High Definition TV may be the best place to watch Super Bowl 47 this year, there are some advantages to streaming it online. Choosing your own Super Bowl game camera angle can get some NFL diehards really excited. This year a new "all 22" camera angle will give every viewer the ability to have the entire field in one shot. Typically NFL coaches are the only people that get this angle to monitor game play.

The other camera angle that seems very interesting is a dedicated camera man called the "Fan Choice" angle selection. Throughout the Super Bowl game viewers will be able to vote on the four rare camera angles to be the one everyone gets in the live online stream of the Super Bowl match off.

Former New Mexico Governor Gary Johnson visited Florida last week, launching his tour of the state with a trio of events right here in Jacksonville.

Johnson, a former Republican who is now the Libertarian Party's nominee for President, spoke to a crowd of around 40 people during an afternoon visit to the Southeast Regional Library on Tuesday. In addition to shrinking the overall size of government, the candidate addressed the Supreme Court's decision to uphold President Obama's health care reforms. Johnson, a strong advocate of free markets, was sharply critical of both the President and Republican nominee Mitt Romney, who has promised to repeal Obamacare and replace it with something else.

Romney has promised to both balance the Federal budget and increase spending on Medicare and the military, according to Johnson.

"I finished the second grade and the mathematics that went along with that," said the Libertarian nominee. "And Romney's a smart guy, but it doesn't add up."

Johnson also told the crowd that when he was Governor of New Mexico, he vetoed spending more than the other 49 governors combined.

The library event was open to the public and was book-ended by a lunchtime fundraiser and an evening get together at Sneaker's Sports Bar in the Baymeadows area. It was at that event where Johnson told the assembled libertarians he hoped that he carry the party's banner in the 2016 election as well, noting he was running a frugal campaign that has depended almost entirely on small donors.

After departing Jacksonville, the Johnson campaign headed south for events in Orlando and Tampa. On Friday, he threw out the first pitch at a minor league baseball game in Dunedin.

Defense led the way for the Sharks (8-8) from the start, as they did not allow a Mustang touchdown in the first half. The secondary blanketed Milwaukee’s receivers in the first half forcing one turnover on downs and making the Mustangs attempt four first-half field goals. Meanwhile, Quarterback Bernard Morris drove the Sharks’ offense to three first-half touchdowns. Morris connected with Jeron Harvey for a pair of touchdown strikes on the team’s first two drives of the game before later rushing for another touchdown with 3:21 left in the first half.

The Sharks only misstep of the first half came in the closing seconds when Milwaukee (5-11) recovered a Morris fumble on the Jacksonville 5-yard line with 8.5 seconds to play. However, the Shark defense stood strong with a Terrance Smith pass breakup followed by a blocked field goal by Jason Holman, sending the Sharks to the half with momentum and a 20-9 lead.

“To have a chance we have to win every game,” Holman said. “That puts us in a position to where we have to make plays so we can continue our season. So we came out fired up and hopefully we do it the rest of the season.”

Milwaukee came out of the locker room and scored their first touchdown of the game on the opening possession of the third quarter. Quarterback Gino Guidugli connected with wideout Taurian Washington who did the rest, breaking multiple tackles en route to a long run after the catch for a touchdown.

However, the Sharks defense returned to form later in the third quarter, stopping the Mustangs twice inside their own 5-yard line. Jack linebacker Charlie Hunt was the cause of the first stop when he intercepted Guidugli on fourth down, returning it to the Sharks 10-yard line. On the next drive, the Sharks stopped the Mustangs on three consecutive plays from the one, forcing a turnover on downs.

Morris capitalized on the play of the defense, building the lead to as many as 24 points in the second half. He led the Sharks to scores after both stops, first with a 37-yard bomb to Jacksonville University product Josh Philpart before connecting with Harvey for a 17-yard, spectacular, over-the-wall touchdown catch.

The Mustangs scored two late, fourth-quarter touchdowns but it was not enough to overcome Jacksonville as the Sharks improved to 8-8 on the season, 5-4 at the friendly confines of Sea Best Field and 2-0 all-time against the Mustangs.

Morris commanded the Shark offense, having a hand in each of the team’s seven touchdowns, throwing for six and running for one. He was consistent throughout the night, something that is a common theme in his five wins as a starter this season. He completed 15 of 19 passes for 192 yards and just the one turnover.

Harvey led the way for the receivers with six catches for 86 yards and three scores. However, it was Philpart who had the breakout performance, making his first three catches of the season, all of which went for touchdowns.

“It feels good,” Philpart said. “Coach Moss believed in me. He dressed me out after I didn’t dress last week. It feels really good. I had a couple of my ex-players out here. My wide receivers coach from high school and college was out here, it feels really good.”

Defensively, the Sharks were dominant. The secondary had five pass breakups to go along with Hunt’s interception. Defensive back LaRoche Jackson led the Sharks with 10 tackles. Defensive lineman Scooter Berry grabbed another sack, his team-high tenth of the season.

“Well the defense played great, they played lights out football all day long,” said Sharks head coach Les Moss. “Coach [Jake] Grande did a great job. You know coach [Brian] Ferguson, they always do a great job with those guys. They prepared well and they showed it tonight.”

Next up for the Sharks is the second of two games against the rival Orlando Predators, July 14, on Sea Best Field inside the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena. The Sharks defeated the Predators in Orlando, 55-37, on May 25. A win over Orlando would clinch a playoff berth for the Sharks, who need any combination of a win or a Cleveland Gladiators loss to make the playoffs.

“We’re looking for two wins,” Moss said. “We’re not looking for help or anything. We want to win out and have momentum going into the playoffs period.”

The Jacksonville Jaguars have concluded their successful 3-day mini-camp, piloted for the first time by new head coach Mike Mularkey.

Absent from the event we Jaguar stars Maurice Jones-Drew, the NFL's top running back from last year, and kicker Josh Scobee who has been locked down with the franchise tag while a new contract is being negotiated. Jones-Drew has publicly expressed a desire to renegotiate his contract, though he still has 2 years remaining on the deal.

Mularkey ended the camp with an eye on building his new team to stand the test of time.

“We want to look like a team that would like to win a championship, and the way you do that is you do things right,” Mularkey said. “Whether it’s stretching, lining up your helmets right or doing jumping jacks together as a team, I tell them, ‘There are 11 guys in that row. Why have one helmet out of whack? You can’t have one out of sync any time when you have 11 guys together, so let’s just do it.’

When pressed on the team's current state, the coach was upbeat.

“We feel good about these guys,” he said. “We wanted to finish today on a good note so they can go away feeling good about themselves and like they did accomplish something, so when we get to training camp it’s not going to be taking a step back at any point.”

This season will be the first not only for Mularkey, but also new team owner Shad Khan.

Several early turnovers created a deficit from which the Jacksonville Sharks could not come back, as the team fell by a 62-27 count against the Philadelphia Soul in front of 10,206 on Sea Best Field at the Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena on Saturday night.

The Sharks (6-7) kept the game close into the second quarter, trailing 20-13 at the end of the first. But the Jacksonville offense stumbled from that point, as Philadelphia’s defense shut out the Sharks in the second quarter. As part of that defensive effort, Rayshaun Kizer intercepted Shark quarterback Bernard Morris, setting up a touchdown that put the Soul ahead, 27-13. Philadelphia pushed that edge to 34-13 in the half’s final minute, when Kizer capped the quarter by forcing a Morris fumble as time expired.

In the second half, Philadelphia (11-3) continued that strong defensive effort. Late in the third quarter, Morris was intercepted by Kent Richardson for a Philadelphia touchdown, pushing the Soul’s edge to 55-20. It was the second of three interceptions for Richardson on Saturday, as he became the first opposing player to accomplish the feat against the Sharks in franchise history.

Overall, Philadelphia forced seven Jacksonville turnovers. On the other side, Bill Alford provided a late-game highlight with a 47-yard interception return for a touchdown – the only turnover snagged by the Jacksonville defense. Melik Brown followed Alford’s return with his second rushing touchdown of the contest for the final score of the game.

Offensively, Morris finished 11-for-23 for 125 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. Morris also ran for 19 yards on five carries. Jamarko Simmons grabbed both touchdown receptions – including a first-half score in which he ended up in the stands – while Jeron Harvey led Jacksonville with five catches for 52 yards. Rendrick Taylor produced another strong game on the ground, racking up 31 yards on just three carries.

For the Soul, quarterback Dan Raudabaugh completed 14 of 24 passes for 164 yards and three touchdowns. Donovan Morgan hauled in all three of those scores, leading all receivers with eight catches for 114 yards. Former Shark Jeff Hughley sparked Philadelphia with a kickoff return for a touchdown late in the first quarter.

On defense, Scooter Berry notched his team-high eighth sack of the season for Jacksonville, while the Soul’s T.J. Langley recorded his first sack in a Philadelphia uniform. LaRoche Jackson led all players with 6.5 total tackles, while Kizer, Colin Nelson and Bryan Robinson each recovered a fumble for Philadelphia.

The night stands as the largest defeat in Shark team history and also marks the first time that Jacksonville did not score at least 30 points in a game.

With the loss, Jacksonville is tied with the Tampa Bay Storm and New Orleans VooDoo for second place in the South Division, a half-game back of the Georgia Force. With the Cleveland Gladiators’ Saturday defeat, Jacksonville, Tampa Bay and New Orleans and Cleveland are all 6-7 – and competing for three potential playoff spots - with five weeks to play.

The Sharks return home next Saturday to take on those Gladiators in what could be a pivotal game in the American Conference Wild Card Race. Because Jacksonville already defeated Cleveland, 54-49, on April 20, the Sharks could clinch a potential tiebreaking scenario against Cleveland. Kickoff for next Saturday’s game is set for 7:00 p.m.

After winning 49 of 55 games at Jacksonville University, resulting in two NCAA appearances — including the 1970 national championship game against UCLA — Artis Gilmore was drafted by the ABA’s Kentucky Colonels in 1971.

Signing a 10-year multimillion dollar contract, Gilmore led the league in field-goal percentage, rebounds, and minutes per game in his rookie season, winning him not only the Rookie of the Year award, but also the league’s MVP. He was also named to the ABA’s All-Star team — the first of four such honors in his five years in the league.

Over the next four years, Gilmore won the ABA’s rebounding title three more times and was again named the league’s MVP in 1974. He also led the Colonels to an ABA championship in 1975, a year before the league folded.

In five seasons in the ABA, Gilmore didn’t miss a single regular season game, appearing in all 420 games.

When the ABA merged into the NBA in 1976, players from the Kentucky Colonels and the Spirits of St. Louis — the two remaining ABA teams not included in the merger — took part in a dispersal draft hosted by the NBA in August of that year. Gilmore, who was probably the greatest center in ABA history, was selected by the Chicago Bulls.

In his first three seasons with the Bulls, Gilmore continued his prolific rebounding and scoring prowess while establishing one of the highest field goal percentages in the league. Incredibly, he also played in 246 consecutive regular season games during his first three seasons in the NBA, expanding his professional record to 666 contests in which he never missed a game.

Gilmore, who was traded to San Antonio in 1982 before joining the Bulls again in 1987, ended his professional career with the Boston Celtics in 1988.

In his eighteen years of professional basketball, Gilmore scored 24,041 points and pulled down 16,330 rebounds. He also blocked 3,179 shots, including 1,431 during his five seasons with the Kentucky Colonels in the now-defunct ABA.

Gilmore’s career .599 field goal percentage — he hit a sizzling 67% of his shots with the Chicago Bulls in 1980-81 — makes him the all-time NBA leader in that category. Shaquille O’Neal is second on the NBA’s all-time leader list at .582.

The Dolphins, entering the game as a slight favorite, were unable to stop The Citadel’s rushing attack that churned out 439 yards — the most in seventeen seasons. Sophomore quarterback Ben Dupree, a 5’9” native of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, led the Bulldogs with 141 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries. He also passed for 33 yards.

The Citadel’s Darien Robinson, another Pennsylvania product, and junior slot back Dalton Trevino rushed for 82 and 63 yards, respectively. Robinson’s 1-yard touchdown run late in the third quarter and Trevino’s 8-yard dash early in the fourth put the game out of reach.

Capitalizing on a botched punt return, JU struck first when senior J.J. Laster scored on a two-yard run to give the Dolphins a 6-0 lead at the 8:49 mark in the first quarter. The extra point attempt was bobbled on the snap.

The Dolphins stretched their lead to 9-0 on a 23-yard field goal by sophomore Bladen Gudz with 49 seconds remaining in the first quarter.

The Citadel didn’t get on the board until late in the second quarter when Dupree, displaying lightning speed and agility as he raced past one JU defender after another, took off on a 58-yard scamper to cut the lead to 9-7 with 4:29 remaining in the first half.

The Bulldogs scored again on another Dupree scamper — this one for 28 yards — to take a 14-9 advantage heading into the locker room.

The Citadel completely owned the second half, outscoring the stunned Dolphins 17-0.

Kerwin Bell’s squad, which led the entire FCS in scoring and total yards in 2010 — averaging a blistering 42.2 points-per game while amassing 486.3 yards per game — was limited to 186 total yards against their Southern Conference opponent.

The Dolphins, whose rushing game netted a minus 22 yards, were led by quarterback Josh McGregor, who completed 21 of 33 passes for 208 yards. The 6’2”, 210 senior was sacked five times in the game. J.J. Laster, a 5’6” running back, rushed for 27 yards on ten carries for Jacksonville.

JU, which hosts Charleston Southern at D. B. Milne Field on September 17, travels to Macomb, Illinois, next Saturday to play Western Illinois University — a 20-6 loser on the road at Sam Houston State on Thursday. The Leathernecks, who play at Big 12 powerhouse Missouri a week after hosting the Dolphins, are coming off an 8-5 season.

Aaron Garcia, playing in his first Arena Bowl championship game, threw a 10-yard touchdown strike to Jeron Harvey on the final play of the game to lift the Jacksonville Sharks (17-4) past the host Arizona Rattlers in ArenaBowl XXIV.

In one of the most exciting Arena Bowl games in history, the 40-year-old Garcia, connecting on 28 of 42 passes, threw for 402 yards and eight touchdowns as Jacksonville avenged a season-opening loss to the Rattlers with a dramatic 73-70 victory before a crowd of 14,320 hostile fans at the US Airways Center in Phoenix.

One couldn’t have asked for a wilder finish to a championship game. Incredibly, the lead changed four times in the final minute of play as the league’s top two offenses each scored twice in the final frantic seconds.

The combined 143 points scored in last night’s championship game set a new Arena Bowl record, breaking the previous high of 131 in San Jose’s 69-62 victory over Arizona seven years ago in ArenaBowl XVIII.

Garcia’s last-second heroics were a fitting climax to a phenomenal season for the Sharks, a second-year franchise that dedicated itself to finally winning an Arena Bowl championship for the former Sacramento State quarterback, a scrappy veteran who has played 17 consecutive seasons in the AFL.

Garcia, who became the first Arena Football League quarterback to surpass the 50,000-yard career milestone when he threw for 117 yards in the regular season finale against the Spokane Shock on July 22, hinted after last night’s storybook ending that he might return for another season.

Savoring last night’s dramatic victory, the football-frenzied First Coast would certainly welcome his return.

“Aaron Garcia just stole a moment from Brett Favre’s wildest fantasy,” said one elated Sharks fan shortly after Garcia, dodging a sack yet remaining cool as a cucumber, found the 6’5” Harvey on the right-side of the end zone to win the game.

The ageless Garcia, who holds the all-time AFL record for touchdown passes and completions — including a career-high 402 completions and 116 touchdown tosses this season — said his ten-yard toss to Harvey as time expired was one that he’ll never forget.

“I’ve thrown all these touchdowns and that’s the only touchdown I am ever going to care about for a long time,” said a jubilant Garcia in a post-game interview while carrying one of his three children on his shoulders.

Arizona, which came into the game with an eleven-game winning streak — two shy of the record-breaking single season 13 consecutive games won earlier this year by the Sharks — and looking for its third Arena Bowl championship ring and its first since 1997, finished the season with an 18-3 record.
