Creating jobs for the sake of creating jobs is not going to get us anywhere, and unfortuneately that is the approach the government is taking. Road building, rail projects, census worker positions, rebate programs and other temporary/short term job creators don't do anything to help establish a sustainable economic recovery.

We have never been "here" before. Our previous economy was based almost entirely on service sector jobs (retail, restaurants, hospitality, tourism) and escalating real estate values which allowed consumers and businesses to keep pumping money back into the system (credit, refinancing, etc).

We need to re-focus and accept that our goal should not be to get back to where we were, but to get to a place that allows us to become self sufficient. Retail sales should not be the benchmark for determining the health of our economy.

You are absolutely correct in stating that this is going to be a long, slow climb, but unless and until we establish where the top of that hill is we will continue to descend deeper into the valley.

Blech. In a state where so many houses have been abandoned and businesses have closed, it is unbelievable to think that we need MORE development. If the corporate community could be trusted to reign themselves in, we wouldn't even be in this predicament.

Politicans rubber stamp developers' plans and this amendment threatens to change all that.

Run scared, overbuilders. We are taking the power back.

Neither of them were ever being considered for that slot, but most definitely will have key roles whether it be directly or indirectly involved with the administration.

What concerns me and I know other voters, "Why would someone spend millions for a thankless job that pays only $130,000 per year?"

So now we're supposed to overlook Scott's "...character and financial dealings." and fall into line behind him so we don't end up with a ideologically hamstrung left winger as Governor?

"Real Republicans" are an endangered species, and "real Democrats" are extinct!

Sour grapes? Yeah, the grapes are sour! A pox on both your houses!
